Your privacy is extremely important to us.
At Arena Living we have a few fundamental principles:
- We will only use your personal information when it is necessary for us to deliver you our services or perform other necessary business functions and activities.
- We will not use or disclose your personal information for purposes unrelated to our business activities and the services we provide, unless we first obtain your consent.
We are bound by the requirements of those laws, which regulate how we may collect, store, use and disclose your personal information. Those laws also specify how individuals may access and correct information held about them.
“Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual. By way of example, this type of information includes your name, contact details, health and medical information.
Our business involves the storage of information and data (including personal information) that is submitted by you, or with your authority.
1. What information do we collect?
Arena Living collects information you provide
Any personal information that you provide to us is collected and managed by us or on our behalf. Our usual practice is to collect personal information directly from you, either via the Arena Living website, or via an Arena Living document or personnel, when you:
- complete an Application for Occupation Right Agreement, an Occupation Right Agreement or a Medical/Medication History Form for any Arena Living village;
- complete any online form on our website;
- subscribe to receive marketing and sales material or communications;
- otherwise complete a hard copy form or provide information to Arena Living, including through meetings, discussions and correspondence as part of your application process or during your involvement or living within an Arena Living village;contact Arena Living; or
- contact Arena Living; or
- visit our website or social media channels.
You may provide personal information about yourself such as your name, date of birth, gender, marital status, residential address, email and contact details, information regarding access to our website or social media channels, photos, financial information, health information, legal information, and your activities including lifestyle and other interests.
We may also collect personal medical information about you from your medical practitioner, for example via a Medical/Medication History Form or during telephone or email correspondence with your medical practitioner, where you have provided your express consent to do so.
You can always choose not to provide your personal information to Arena Living, but it may mean that we are unable to assess your suitability to reside in an Arena Living Village or provide our services to you.
Arena Living collects personal information from you about others.
Where requested to do so by Arena Living, you must also assist Arena Living with any requests by the individual to access or update the personal information you have collected from them and provided to us.
Cookies and other monitoring devices
We may use services such as Google Analytics, which will issue cookies from their own servers and which will be able to track website visitors throughout relevant websites. We do not control how those cookies are issued, or the data that they store.
We may use “web beacons” (electronic images also known as pixel tags or clear gifs) to recognise a cookie on your computer when you view or act upon a web page, an advertisement that we have placed on a third party web page, or an email or other electronic communication that we have sent.
We may also use Local Shared Objects, sometimes referred to as “Flash” cookies. Use of Local Shared Objects can help deter, detect and prevent fraud and can support our online services.
In some villages, Arena Living monitors people (including residents, employees, service providers and visitors) on CCTV while they are in common areas of Arena Living villages. This is to provide security to our residents, employees and visitors.
2. How is your personal information used?
Arena Living collects your personal information so that we can provide you with retirement lifestyle products and services and any related products or services you may request. In doing so, Arena Living may use the personal information we have collected from you for purposes related to our business including to:
- verify your identity;
- assess your suitability to reside in an Arena Living Village;
- administer the products and services we provide;
- conduct payment processing;
- notify you of new or changed products or services offered by us or third-party affiliates;
- carry out marketing or training in connection with the products and services we provide;
- assist with the resolution of any technical support issues or other issues relating to our website;
- comply with our legal obligations; and
- communicate with you, including providing you with information you have requested from us.
3. In what very limited circumstances might we disclose your personal information?
Your personal information will not be sold, traded, rented or otherwise provided to others without your consent.
We may share personal information within Arena Living and with third parties. The types of third parties to whom we may disclose your personal information includes our service providers who assist us in providing our products and services such as organisations who provide banking, market research, mailhouse, recruitment, call centre, health, lifestyle and technology services . We may also share your personal information with medical practitioners, police and any other medical or emergency services who attend to you.
We may also share personal information, such as your date of birth, your phone number, photographs of you taken within an Arena Living village and your address to other members of the Arena Living community with your prior consent.
As a global organisation Arena Living regularly handles and transfers information (including personal information) between Arena Living’s related companies operating in different countries. Each member of the Arena Living group of companies observes applicable legal requirements under their local national laws for the protection of privacy and personal information.
We will not otherwise disclose your personal information unless we believe on reasonable grounds that you have provided your authorisation. However, you should be aware that we may be required to disclose your personal information without your consent in order to comply with any court orders, subpoenas or other legal process or investigation including by tax authorities, if such disclosure is required by law. Where possible and appropriate, we will notify you if we are required by law to disclose your personal information.
4. Storage and security
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information and we take all reasonable precautions to protect it from unauthorised loss, access, use, modification or disclosure.
However, the Internet is not in itself a secure environment and we cannot give an absolute assurance that your personal information will be secure at all times. Transmission of personal information over the Internet is at your own risk and you should only enter, or instruct the entering of, personal information within a secure environment.
We will advise you as soon as practicable upon discovering or being advised of a security breach where your personal information is lost, stolen, accessed, used, disclosed, copied, modified or disposed of by any unauthorised persons or in any unauthorised manner.
It is your responsibility to keep your login details, password and security questions in respect of our business with you safe and secure. You should notify us as soon as possible if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your login details, password or security questions, and immediately change that security information promptly.

We are committed to full compliance with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
By subscribing to emails and/or text communications, or otherwise providing your email address and/or mobile number, you consent to receiving emails and/or texts (as the case may be) which promote and market our products and services, or the products and services of others, from time to time.
You can unsubscribe from our email communications and/or text communications at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any promotional or marketing email or text received or by emailing email@example.com
Once you have unsubscribed from the email or text communications, you will be removed from the corresponding marketing list as soon as is reasonably practicable.
7. How you can access or correct your personal information
It is your responsibility to ensure that the personal information you have provided to us is accurate, complete, up-to-date and not misleading. You may request access to the information we hold about you, or request that we update or correct any personal information we hold about you, by setting out your request in writing and sending it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will respond to your request no later than 20 working day after receiving your request. If we are unable to give you access to the information you have requested, we will give you reasons for this decision when we respond to your request.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as we require it for the purposes of operating our business. However, we may also be required to keep some of your personal information for specified periods of time, for example under certain laws relating to companies, money laundering and financial reporting legislation.

We will respond as quickly as possible (our target response is 30 days) and handle all complaints in a way that is fair and consistent. However, if you remain dissatisfied, you can make a formal complaint with Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
